Wir bieten dieses Semester Seminarthemen im Bereich der Mensch-Computer Interaktion an. Für eine Teilnahme am Seminar ist eine kurze, formlose Bewerbung via E-Mail (an Alia Saad - Betreff „Seminar 2020/21“) bis zum 15.10.2020 notwendig.

Start of the Human-Computer Interaction Group

Since the 18 May 2017, the Human-Computer Interaction Group explores novel interaction techniques at the University Duisburg-Essen. You can find us on the 4th floor of Schützenbahn 70.

IoT Assist Project Kickoff

After a successful kickoff last week, we started the BMBF funded project IoTAssist with our partners from DFKI GmbH, DHfPG, ThingOS, Centigrade GmbH, Eyeled GmbH, TU München. The aim of this project is to develop an end user platform for assistance services that operates based on IoT devices and portable sensors. We are excited about the project and will share future insights and progress.

The Human Computer Interaction group will offer a workshop on secure authentication at intelligent devices at the renowned "ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems".

1. HCI Flappy Bird AI Olympics

The very first Flappy Bird AI Olympics took place on the 29th January 2020 during the exercise on Human Computer Interaction. Ten students let their AIs compete against each other to determine three winners.

The DecoChrom Workshop will be held in the context of the HCI course as lab exercise. Prof. Löchtefeld will introduce the students of the HCI course at the 20th and 22nd of November how flexible electrochromic displays can be produced.

Body Reaction as Password

Forgot your password? Everyone probably knows that. Authenticating yourself by fingerprint or iris scan is a practical alternative. But biometric procedures also have disadvantages, because body characteristics cannot be changed and you show them publicly. The Software Technology Institute paluno of the UDE is researching a new approach that combines biometrics and password protection.
